Extended Class policies have changed! For information about how to register, refund and withdrawal policies, and more, please check out the new policy document.

Open Registration for our Fall extended classes has now ended. A few of our classes, however, do have limited space remaining. Please see the details below for information on which classes can accept late registration. Contact Julie Haase for more info.

All classes are set to begin 10 minutes after the dismissal bell. Students should proceed directly from their classroom to their after-school class location and check in with their instructor.  Please check the dismissal time for your child’s class—on time pickup is very important!

Minimum: 20 members

Limit: 60 members

Be a proud member of the Audubon Singers! We will explore vocal music of many styles and cultures. General music skills will be gained, including reading notes and music symbols on the treble clef.  This will improve the skills and confidence of singers. Although solos will be included, it is not the goal of a choir to develop solo voices, but, instead, to develop a love of group singing! Camaraderie and a real sense of belonging is experienced that is unlike any other outside of making music together. Choir members will be performing for assemblies at Audubon along with at least two other fieldtrips. Details will follow. We will learn a lot more about singing together than we will in our regular classes. While striving for excellence, we will have a wonderful time together! Let’s get singing!

In the last two weeks of class we will look back at our journal entries to find works to polish for class publication.  We will publish both solo pieces and a class collection of writing.

Note:  Though formal writing rules will sometimes apply in terms of final draft spelling and grammar conventions, this class focuses on the joy and creativity of writing.  Writers will be free to start sentences with conjunctions, write fragments or run-on sentences--we will even practice breaking some writing rules!  No academic essay writing methods will be taught.
