Rose Hill Junior High parent information night has been re-scheduled due to the snow days. All 5th and 6th grade parents from Audubon are invited to the event, Thurs. January 26th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the gym at Rose Hill Junior High.

Yee-Haw! The Audubon Hoedown is this Friday, January 27th from 6-8pm!
Saddle up the whole family and join us for music, dancing, photos, and food!
* Tickets are $2 per person or $5 per family
* ALL children must be accompanied by an adult
* Dinner will be available for sale at reasonable prices
* Everyone is invited to dress up western style
* Novelty items like cowboy hats and bandanas will be sold Thursday and Friday before and after school, as well as at the event
* Volunteers are still needed to help sell novelties, decorate the gym, and serve the food. Can you help? Kids can pitch in, too, as long as they are supervised by an adult.  Sign up here.

Congratulations to the winners of Math Challenge 7.
The four winners chosen at random are:

Orin Helfman in Mrs. Reinardy's 2nd grade class
Keya Joy in Mrs. Reinardy's 2nd grade class
Katie Chan in Mrs. Kreidel-Reimer's 2nd grade
Amelia Kawad in Mrs. Housz's 4th grade class

Audubon Family Dinner Night is coming up Wed., Feb. 1st  6:00pm- 10pm.
The next one is at Crossroads Bar & Grill, Ste J1, 15600 NE 8th St, Bellevue, WA 98008. Phone: (425) 457-7905

The Science Fair is coming up on February 23rd and we still could use more parent volunteers to help us get ready: photographing students with their boards and creating award certificates. The night of the fair we need observers to talk with the students and make positive observations about their projects. To help, please sign up online.

Audubon PTSA Membership - We are *ALMOST* there! We need just 6 more memberships to get the Platinum Award from the Washington State PTA! Who is going to get us there???

Also, check out the Owl (just down the hall from the office) to find your name and see the other awards we have received this year.

BOUNCE UP YOUR MATH KANGAROO SKILLS!

What is Math Kangaroo?

Math Kangaroo is a mathematical competition with the flavor of a game—introducing participants to math challenges in a fun and inspiring way. This competition boosts students’ math enthusiasm and self-confidence by measuring what they know rather than judging them in a team situation. More than 40 countries participate in this event that measures logical reasoning and analytical thinking.

The actual contest will be held on March 15, 2012. Deadline to register is December 31, 2011 or when centers are full. Participation fee is $20 (paid directly online on the registration page listed below). More information can be found here.

Click here to register for the competition.

++++++++Our Audubon front office needs your help.++++++++
The front office health room needs help at lunch time to provide ice & Band-Aids for students. Any time between 12-1 would make a big difference. A brief training will be provided. Even if it is only 30 minutes once a month, you can make a difference for students and staff. Please contact Kathy Weiss in the office for more information.
